OBJECTIVES

LEARNERS

  • A positive commitment to all aspects of school life will be reinforced, encouraged and recognised.
  • Learners will develop a sense of pride in performance and appearance.
  • Values of self-discipline, tolerance, honesty, courtesy and mutual respect will be promoted, guiding them into responsible adulthood.

COMMUNITY

  • To develop a sense of pride, trust, respect and active partnership with parents, past learners and the community.
  • An atmosphere of co-operation and support should be developed.
  • Emotional support and assistance must be available to learners and families.

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE GOVERNING BODY

  • The Governing Body shall perform the duties assigned to it in terms of the S.A. Schools Act and any Regulations promulgated thereunder and, where applicable, in terms of the Constitution.
  • The Governing Body supports mother tongue education and the official medium of instruction at the school shall be English.
  • The Governing Body shall strive to uphold, protect and advance Christian values, while recognising and protecting freedom of religion within the school.
  • The Governing Body shall continually strive to serve the best interests of the learners of the school, the educators employed there, and the parents of the learners of the school.
  • The Governing Body shall promote to the best of its ability a sound, happy relationship with the staff and Principal of the school and promote to the best of its ability relationships with the parents of learners in the school.
  • The Governing Body dedicates itself to the maintenance of high standards of education and of learning at the school and it shall always remain loyal to the school’s ideals.

  • The Governing Body shall strive to arrange for the education of the learners of the school, to develop the learners as responsible citizens and in particular, to identify and develop student leaders.

  • The Governing Body shall promote sound extra-curricular activities and develop and protect the character and ethos of the school.
